imminent change

In a team of four, conceptualized, designed, and rendered a 3D space titled Imminent Change for the Salone del Mobile in Milano, Italy. The form and concept were inspired by the ideas of speed, tension and movement behind 20th century Futurism and contemporary architect Zaha Hadid. The group designed the space around the idea that the world is moving towards significant and unavoidable change, as a result of issues such as technological advancements and sustainability. Design and architectural patterns found in Christopher Alexander's "A Pattern Language: Towns, Buildings, Construction" were used to guide our process.

The concept behind the space is that every individual is now a contributor to the imminent changes within society. When a visitor touches the walls of the space, the interaction creates a streak of light that shoots forward to the end room of the space. The end room intends to capture the idea that every person is part of impending massive changes as well as re-connecting visitors of the space back to the city.
